Nikki Dofflemyer

Head Coach & Owner

Nikki began her relationship with CrossFit like most people. After retiring from a 25-year career in law enforcement here in West Volusia, she needed a change.

That change came when she walked into a CrossFit box in Pennsylvania. Anyone who knows Nikki knows that she is not one to sit idle, so it will come as no surprise that Athlete Nikki quickly became Coach Nikki.

Passionate about movement at all ages and stages of life, Nikki has experience in everything from managing exercise for pregnant and postpartum athletes to helping clients with a few more birthdays under their belts to maintain their quality of life.

As head coach, Nikki is constantly learning and expanding the toolboxes of the coaching staff to serve Berzerk’s members better.

Stacey Dofflemyer

Operations Manager & Owner

Stacey is our resident guru for everything “people” – from memberships to mindset.

Mom to seven and grandmother to two, Stacey is no stranger to logistics or management. More importantly though, is Stacey’s ability to make you feel like a part of something greater than yourself. If this gym had a heart, she would be smack dab in the middle of it.

Stacey’s experience extends further, represented by both in her time working in Volusia County Corrections (where she met the love of her life) and her half a decade of experience in gym operations and management.

Today, she combines those personal and professional skills with a passion for the fitness community as CrossFit Berzerk’s gym manager.

“I always wanted the energy to keep up with my kids and grandkids. I watched Nikki do CrossFit for years and thought I would try it myself. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made for myself and my family.”

Lead Coach

Back in 2018, Kara walked into a CrossFit gym, fed up over having fallen off of a monkey bar rig at a local obstacle course race. Three months of CrossFit later, she returned to beat that obstacle. In that time, she fell in love with both the methodology and the community of CrossFit.

Kara has always loved exploring new sports. From gymnastics and volleyball in her youth to tennis and mountain biking today, she is always down for a new challenge. It’ll come as no surprise that she is a lifelong learner, which is part of the appeal of CrossFit to her. There is always something to learn, whether it be movement, mobility, or mindset.

“We all have goals we want to accomplish in life. Moving our bodies and accomplishing goals in the box primes us to take on challenges in our daily lives, both physical and mental. My favorite part of coaching is helping others break through barriers.”

Skeeter Moreno

Lead Coach

Skeeter is no stranger to movement and intensity, two hallmarks of the CrossFit methodology. As a student-athlete playing basketball, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. She kept her passion for movement, continuing on to compete in the Lingerie Football League, obstacle course races, and bodybuilding.

In 2014, Skeeter found CrossFit – first as an athlete and shortly after as a coach. It helped her create balance in her life and work out with people who have the same goals and mindset. The friends she made in the CrossFit community also played a role in her professional development, showing her that it is never too late to follow a dream – in this case, getting her pilot’s license.

When she’s not flying or playing with her pup Goose (yep, that’s a Top Gun reference), Skeeter loves programming and coaching specialty barbell classes. Her favorite moments include helping athletes improve their movements and mobility and, of course, hit new personal bests.

“People make a gym. Gym people make a family. And family makes life great.”

Coach Cordell

Cordell began his CrossFit journey in 2015, wanting to reinvent his body and health. After falling in love with the methodology as a way to gain and maintain fitness, he has welcomed CrossFit as a way of life.

After experiencing some injuries, Cordell has become a strong advocate of proper form, mobility, and safety while still pushing your limits.

“Many people misunderstand CrossFit and what it tries to do. The benefit far exceeds just walking into the gym and lifting weights or running a few miles every day. Constantly varied high-intensity functional movements are key to physical independence. CrossFit isn’t a competition, although it CAN be. Do what you can, don’t lift more than you safely can, and listen to your body.”

There is a fighter in side of all of us, sometimes we just need a little spark to reignite that fire. When Lauren found CrossFit in 2016, she was in need of mental and physical shift in her life. CrossFit was that agent of change, helping her lose 50lbs, gain muscle, and bring out the fierce competitor that was always there.

From the beginning, she had a passion for helping others on their movement journeys, but in early 2022, she made that passion official when she completed her CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certification.

“Strength doesn’t come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.”

Shan Gao

Shan found CrossFit after becoming bored with the same lifting routine at regular gyms. As an ER doctor and mom of a toddler, the unknown and unknowable is in her blood and genes. She fell in love with CrossFit right away. The gym has been her sanctuary and let go of all the stress and better prepare for what life has to bring. The community that comes with it has become her family away from home.

While reading and learning more about CrossFit she came upon coach Glassman’s analogy that “doctors are like lifeguards and CrossFit trainers are like swim coaches”. She wanted to be both to better help people with different needs. She loves sharing her passion of fitness and health with the community to keep them healthy and happy. As a doctor she has in depth understanding of the human body and varies injuries and medical conditions. She also loves seeing the next generation growing up in the gym witness hard work and dedication on the daily.

“You get better and stronger by stepping out of your comfort zone. CrossFit will take
you out of your comfort zone, and the coaches and community will bring you back.”

Meagan Burgess

Meet Meagan, a dynamic individual who has mastered the delicate dance between a successful career and a passion for fitness. Born and raised with a love for both people and physical fitness, Meagan found her professional calling in the world of Human Resources.

Meagan’s journey took a fascinating turn when, in early 2024, she achieved her CrossFit L1. This accomplishment not only showcases her dedication to personal fitness but also reflects a mindset of continuous improvement and a willingness to embrace challenges outside of her professional sphere.

Outside the office, Meagan is a force to be reckoned with in the CrossFit community. Meagan sees CrossFit not just as a physical activity but as a holistic approach to health that complements her demanding profession. She exemplifies the idea that age is no barrier to achieving new heights.

When she isn’t spending time with her family and beloved dog, Maui, you can find her on the water. Her story resonates with the belief that a fulfilling life is not just about career achievements but also about nurturing one’s passions, finding joy in the little things, and staying connected to the things that truly matter.
